At Cabo Foods, we strive to make one of the best healthy tortilla chips money can buy without sacrificing taste... a real connoisseur's chip! It starts with our most basic ingredients, only the best all natural or organic corn, healthy expeller pressed oils and our special seasonings made with whole ingredients, we don’t use any flavorings natural or artificial. Furthermore, our hand cooked small batch and flavor infusion process makes our chips less greasy than most other tortilla chips with 0 Trans-Fat and all of our products are low in sodium.

Our History

Every great business starts with an idea, and that inspiration took the form of a batch of perfect tortilla chips cooked one lazy afternoon in the late 70s. Throughout his childhood, Brady Bunte and his brothers would experiment with chip recipes before discovering just the right mixture of soy sauce and lime juice that made an irresistible chip. Years later while spending his summers fishing and soaking up the rays along the beaches of Cabo San Lucas, Bunte realized that his chips belonged next to coolers on every boat and within arms reach of every hammock. It was a simple idea, it was a good idea, but where to get started?
Since Cabo had been the inspiration, it seemed only fitting to begin there as well. Cabo Foods Inc. opened its first factory directly across from the Corona brewery (you know there's a joke in there somewhere).  The factory became a focal point for the community by creating good jobs and funding charities and schools. A few months after starting in Mexico, Cabo Chips became so successful that the company opened a second factory near the beautiful beaches in sunny Southern California. To this day, Cabo Chips is still owned and operated by the Bunte family.

Environmentally Initiatives

At Cabo Foods we go to great lengths to ensure that we are making our products with a minimal impact on the environment.  Our use of natural and organic ingredients is not only better for you but it significantly lowers our impact on the environment.  In addition, we use only eco-friendly and biodegradable cleaners, we convert our cooking oil into biodiesel, we used recycled cardboard for our shipping cartons, and our bags are produced under strict environmental guidelines with water based inks.  We also actively donate and participate in events of our local Surfrider Chapters, to learn more about Surfrider visit www.surfrider.org.

Social Responsibility

In addition to being actively involved with Surfrider, we participate in the events of a number of other charities including Miracles for Kids, Orangewood Childrens Foundation, The Sea Shepherd Conservation Society and Project Rwanda to name a few.   We invite you to learn more about these great organizations and challenge you to volunteer some time as well.
